A heroic stance by Arab players in the English Premier League to support Palestine

A special meeting brought together more than 30 Muslim and Arab football, rugby and cricket athletes, to discuss the consequences of the war in Palestine, which began last Saturday after the implementation of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, according to the British newspaper “Mirror”.
The report confirmed that Muslim and Arab players in the English Football League and other sports discussed the vision of presenting an appropriate tribute to the Palestinian martyrs of the war in Gaza.
The report added: “The players informed their clubs that they would withdraw from the field if respect for the martyrs of Palestine was not shown and shown to one side.”
The English Football League had received calls from a number of Premier League clubs, dissatisfied with the silence regarding the ongoing events in Palestine.
A number of English Premier League clubs called for support and sympathy for those killed in the occupation and to honor them, but the Club Association's reaction to expressing sympathy for one side made them hesitant, according to the Daily Mail.
The meeting of Muslim and Arab players in various games came in response to the clubs’ request to express sympathy with the occupation, stressing that if the same is not agreed upon for them to support the Palestinians, they will withdraw from the field.
The Daily Mail report confirmed that the English Premier League is prepared to take an appropriate amount of time before making any decision in this regard, for fear of criticism, especially in light of the ownership of some English clubs by Arab investors, which makes the situation complicated for the Premier League, according to the report.
